Report: WVU F Tre Mitchell Game-Time Decision Against Mount St. Mary’s

Published

on

As first reported by Stadium’s Jeff Goodman, West Virginia forward Tre Mitchell (foot) will be a game-time decision against Mount St. Mary’s on Monday night. Mitchell has missed the preseason public festivities throughout the month of October.

WVU head coach Bob Huggins mentioned last week that Mitchell has not practiced since his injury. Mitchell missed the Gold-Blue Debut, Dayton ‘secret scrimmage’ and the Bowling Green exhibition.

Mitchell (6-foot-9, 225 pounds) was 1-of-4 transfer portal additions that Huggins and his staff brought in during the summer. Mitchell played at UMass his first two seasons and then most recently at Texas last year. Mitchell won the Atlantic-10 Rookie of the Year award in 2019-20, averaging 17.7 points and 7.2 rebounds. Last season for Chris Beard at Texas, Mitchell averaged 8.7 points and 4.0 rebounds on 48 percent shooting.

WV Sports Now will keep you up-to-date throughout the day regarding Mitchell’s injury.
