For all the talk about players West Virginia loses to the transfer portal, it can work both ways and be a source to add too. And WVU is looking to the portal to help rebuild one of its most important units.

Ajani Cornelius, who announced he is entering the portal and is transferring after two seasons at Rhode Island, says WVU is among a slew of offers he’s received in less than 24 hours since making his intentions public. Cornelius, an upcoming junior, is listed at 6’5 and 315 pounds by Rhode Island. He hails from Harlem, New York.

He started every game at right tackle each of the past two seasons and earned first-team All-CAA for 2022. Cornelius was part of the third-highest scoring offense in the conference, averaging 30.6 points per game.

In addition to the Mountaineers, Cornelius has garnered offers from Missouri, Virginia, Washington State, Kansas, Nebraska, Marshall, Akron, and Texas A&M in order of when he posted each.
