University of Richmond transfer Tyrek Funderburk has received an offer from the Mountaineers.

The senior cornerback made the offer official in an announcement via his Twitter account on Sunday afternoon.

Funderburk entered the NCAA Transfer Portal with one year of eligibility remaining after spending the last four seasons with the Spiders. According to his Twitter account, Funderburk has received four Division I offers since moving to the portal, including West Virginia, Appalachian State, Georgia Southern and Virginia Tech.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound native of North Carolina posted his best season with the Richmond program in 2022, totaling 36 tackles, 24 solo, nine passes defended, two forced fumbles and four interceptions. Funderburk tallied a pick-six against Stony Brook on Sept. 24.

This strong year comes after Funderburk totaled just four tackles and three interceptions over his first three seasons with the Spiders.
