South Carolina Safety Receives WVU Offer, Planning Visit

Shortly after receiving his first ‘Power Five’ offer from West Virginia, Honea Path (SC) 2021 safety Brayln Oliver began setting up a visit to Morgantown to check out the Mountaineers for himself.

“The offer made me so excited,” Oliver told DubVNation. “[It’s] been a dream to play for a football program like WVU.”

Oliver added that he will be visiting West Virginia on March 30th.

Currently, Oliver holds one other offer from Charlotte but is receiving interest from Clemson, Tennessee, Georgia and many others. And though he has plenty of time before claiming any leaders or making a decision, the 6-foot-2 Palmetto State product knows what he is looking for in a school.

“When I decide where I am going to play college football, I’m not looking for a school that’s going to prepare me for the next 3-4 years. I’m looking for who’s going to prepare me for the next 40 years of my life. And mostly, where we can compete and win games.”

Oliver doesn’t have a timeline for when he would like to commit, but did add he likes the idea of competing in the Big 12.

“I love competition and to compete and there are some very good teams in the Big 12 and that’s what I’m all about.”
