Taz Sherman Looks to Become 55th Mountaineer to Score 1,000 Points

West Virginia fifth-year senior Taz Sherman is approaching 1,000 career points as a Mountaineer and has a chance to achieve the accomplishment on Saturday night against No. 6 Kansas. Sherman would become the 55th Mountaineer in history to do so, needing 33 points to eclipse 1,000 points.

As Sherman and West Virginia look to host the Jayhawks inside the WVU Coliseum, Sherman is sitting at 967 career points at West Virginia. The Missouri City, Texas, native has spent three seasons at WVU after spending two seasons in JUCO ball. Sherman raised his point per game average over his three seasons averaging 5.3 points his junior year, 13.6 points his senior year and 18.6 so far in his fifth-year. The 6-foot-4 guard is shooting 41.7 percent from the field in his career.
