Morgantown, WV – Over the weekend, the West Virginia coaching staff hosted a number of recruits for the Mountaineers’ game against Texas Christian.

One of those recruits, elite wide receiver Ali Jennings of Richmond, Virginia, was afforded a special opportunity to visit the WVU Children’s Hospital during his time in Morgantown. Jennings took in the new-found tradition of waving to the children admitted to the hospital during West Virginia’s “Man Trip”, further adding to his relationship with the Mountain State.

“It was great, something that just felt right the first time I visited WVU. I saw how close the hospital was and made sure they knew on my next visit, going there was a priority for me and all the coaches and staff at the hospital made it possible for me, so thanks to all of them. Got to spend time with families, take pics, share some laughs and just let those kids and families know someone cares and to keep fighting.” Jennings said of his visit to the hospital.

Jennings also has a tight bond with wide receivers coach Tyron Carrier whom visited him for senior night a couple weeks back.

“Carrier is my guy. Genuine, honest dude. I like that he’s himself around me and not just a business man trying to get me.”

As for the rest of the visit, it appears that it couldn’t have gone better.

“Game day was crazy. The fans knew who I was. They embraced me as their own. I went down to the field to see the wide receivers warm up and met some of the other recruits. Also drove around campus and saw more of the overall place this time.”

Not only does he have a great mindset, but he’s a pretty solid football player too. This season he hauled in 37 receptions for 619 yards a 7 touchdowns.

He is currently deciding between Michigan State, West Virginia, James Madison, Illinois, North Carolina, Toledo, Temple, and Georgia Tech.
