UCF WR Commit DayDay Farmer Flips to West Virginia on Signing Day

West Virginia Football WR recruit Ric’Darious Farmer

2024 wide receiver DayDay Farmer joined his senior class on Instagram Live to announce which school he was signing with. Farmer was originally committed to UCF but in the end, changed his decision on signing day, and will join West Virginia’s class.

Farmer is a senior at Melbourne Central Catholic in Florida.

Farmer was once a Pitt commit as well.

He’s rated among the 50 best players in Florida by multiple major recruiting outlets

The Mountaineers recruited Farmer throughout the spring and summer, at the time trying to steal him away from rival Pitt. He then flipped his commitment to UCF on August first. The NIL opportunities with WVU were a major factor in Farmer contemplating becoming a Mountaineer once again.

Farmer acquired offers from schools all over the country throughout the past year. While it may seem odd for a payer to switch from a school within his state to one a plane ride away, especially when they play in the same conference, the Mountaineers have put a major emphasis on recruiting Florida players and are trying to build a pipeline with WVU wide receiver coach Bilal Marshall’s deep connections in the area.

“The visit was real good,” Farmer told WVSN in May. “At first, before I even went to West Virginia, I really didn’t think of West Virginia, how it looked, so when I got there, it was in the city, the facilities were good, the coaches and players are real cool and real tight and their bond is real tight.”
