Watch: Former Mountaineer Gary Jennings Scores Touchdown Off Fake Punt for XFL’s Battlehawks

Former Mountaineer Gary Jennings was part of a big highlight for the XFL’s Battlehawks in their overtime win on Saturday.
At first it looked like St. Louis was punting the ball away while trailing in the fourth quarter of their game against the Vegas Vipers. Instead, it was actually a fake and a pass to a wide open Jennings.
The WVU football alum, who has mostly bounced around on NFL practice squads since leaving college, ran all the way to the end zone for the surprise touchdown. The score helped send the game to overtime.

As has been the theme of the Battlehawks’ season, Jennings’ fellow Mountaineer head coach Anthony Becht’s aggressive decision making led St. Louis to another comeback win. The Battlehawks are now 6-2 on the year after the 21-17 win.
Becht celebrated Jennings’ fake punt touchdown like only he could.
