Watch: WVU OL Makes One-Handed TD Catch During Practice
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Did an unexpected player just join the wide receiver competition at WVU? Well, offensive lineman Nick Krahe made his case during practice on Monday.
Quarterback Nicco Marchiol even felt the need to give Krahe a shoutout during his media session, joking they might have to draw up some plays for the 6-foot-6, 316-pound lineman this season.
Krahe made a one-handed touchdown grab, igniting a big reaction from his teammates. The video below shows what all the fuss is about.

Krahe committed to the Mountaineers ahead of the 2023 season as a consensus three-star recruit. Along with WVU, Krahe received other Power Four offers from Boston College, Maryland and Pitt.
He starred on both sides of the ball in high school, playing at both offensive guard and tackle, but at 6-foot-6 and 305 pounds would likely serve the Mountaineers best using his wingspan to fight off edge rushers. Tied as one of the four tallest players on the roster, that height and length could make Krahe a natural at tackle.
During his first two seasons with WVU Football, Krahe made it onto the field as a member of the special teams unit, indicating a higher level of athleticism than one might expect from the average lineman. He’ll have plenty of competition for a starting role in 2025, but seems to be on a good trajectory, his playing time increasing from season to season.
