If the smile on the face of West Virginia center Zach Frazier surrounded by all of his loved ones doesn’t get you emotional, I don’t know what will.

Frazier — a 6-foot-3, 310-pound offensive lineman from Fairmont, W.Va. — was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and all of his friends and family were in attendance to hear his name called by Steelers tight end Pat Friermuth in Detroit, Mich.

Frazier appeared in 47 games for the Mountaineers over the last four seasons, and while his senior season came to an early end due to a leg injury against Baylor on Nov. 25, he made sure to get himself off the field without costing WVU any time on the clock.

The WVU football program shared video of Frazier’s reaction to learning his draft fate.

It was just one display of courage and determination by the former high school wrestler and All-American offensive lineman. Frazier had a message for his new team, shared on X (Twitter) moments after being selected as the newest Pittsburgh Steeler.

“I couldn’t be more excited and ready to get to work,” Frazier said in a video posted by the Steelers. “Can’t wait to get up there tomorrow, can’t wait.”
