West Virginia Basketball Hires New Video Coordinator
West Virginia basketball announced on Wednesday afternoon that Jalen Cannady will serve as the program’s video coordinator.
“We are excited to have Jalen join our staff as our video coordinator. He will help immensely in our self analysis film study and in our game preparation,” WVU HC Darian DeVries said in a press release. “He’s also someone who has played basketball at a high level which adds even more to his ability to pick things up quickly when analyzing film.”

Cannady, a Concord, NC native, was most recently with the Birmingham Squadron in the NBA G-League as the team’s player development coach and video coordinator.

Prior to his position in the NBA G-League, Cannady was a graduate assistant and assistant director of scouting at UNC Charlotte from 2021-23. He has also served as a player development coach for Keep Stacking Days Basketball, head coach for Team History Basketball Club, youth basketball coach for Five-Star Sports China and as an assistant coach for Catawba Valley Community College.
Cannady joins a new West Virginia staff that consists of DeVries (HC), Chester Frazier (AHC), Kory Barnett (assistant), Tom Ostrom (assistant), Cavel Witter (assistant), Nick Norton (assistant) and Nelson Hernandez (director of player personnel/recruiting).
