West Virginia Football Joining Mix for Former Maryland TE CJ Dippre

West Virginia has been busy looking to the transfer portal as a tool to quickly rebuild their roster, and this time it’s for a position that is wide open on the WVU roster right now.

Former Maryland tight end CJ Dippre is among the latest players who has received an offer from the Mountaineers. Dippre, who announced he was going to leave the Terps and enter the transfer portal on Nov. 30, tweeted his WVU offer on Monday afternoon.

After playing in 3 games and redshirting his freshman season at Maryland, Dippre had a breakout 2022 season with 30 catches for 314 yards and 3 touchdowns. The native of Scranton, Pennsylvania was a weapon for Maryland both in the passing and running back, because of his ability to block.

Before committing to Maryland, Dippre had a final seven of Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, Kentucky, Virginia and Boston College.

West Virginia is far from the only program showing interest in Dippre. He has also garnered offers from Syracuse, Ole Miss, North Carolina State South Carolina and Pitt.
