West Virginia is in the running for a pass-rushing defensive end from Delaware.

2022 3-star defensive end Tomiwa Durojaiye has announced that he will make his college choice on August 14th and WVU is one of his options.

Durojaiye tells WV Sports Now that his five finalists are (no order): West Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. Aside from those five programs, Durojaiye has also received offers from programs like Arkansas, Duke, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Northwestern, Temple and a number of MAC programs.

WVU defensive line coach AJ Jackson and defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley have handled the recruitment of Durojaiye. It’s interesting that West Virginia made his top five despite never making an official visit to Morgantown. However, he did make an unofficial visit on June 10, which allowed Durojaiye to see all he needed to.

WV Sports Now asked Durojaiye on Sunday night, what he saw or heard from the West Virginia program which allowed them to make his final list.

“I love the way that West Virginia would use me,” said Durojaiye. “I would primarily be a defensive end and be used at the bandit position in the West Virginia defense. Their defense allows me to show my versatility. I was impressed with the strength and conditioning aspect at West Virginia. I also liked the academics and player development at West Virginia. I think West Virginia is on the rise and has the right coaching staff to take it to the next level.”

Once again, Durojaiye will announce his decision on August 14.

WVU’s Class of 2022 currently has 16 commitments and is ranked No. 23 by Rivals and No. 22 by 247 Sports.
