West Virginia Shifts Usual Starting Lineup Before First Round of Big 12’s

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – About 30 minutes before West Virginia and Kansas State tip off the Big 12 Conference Tournament, WVU will be running with an unusual starting lineup.

The Mountaineers will start Kedrian “Keddy” Johnson, Sean McNeil, Taz Sherman, Jalen Bridges and Gabe Osabuohien. Osabuohien replaces Isaiah Cottrell, who has started in 28 games this season.

On senior day against TCU, WVU head coach Bob Huggins made a last-minute decision changing the staring lineup to include Osabuohien for Cottrell. It looked like it was a move made to honor Osabuohien’s last game at the WVU Coliseum, but it appears it was a decision that was made going forward.

Osabuohien is averaging 5.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks through 29 games.
