West Virginia Target Q’yaeir Price Picks Syracuse Over WVU

West Virginia’s run of bad luck on the recruiting trail continued Saturday with 2022 3-star defensive end Q’yaeir Price committing to Syracuse.

Price (6-foot-4, 250 pounds) announced his commitment to Syracuse with a post on Twitter Saturday afternoon, thanking those who allowed him to reach this point.

The decision doesn’t come as a huge surprise, with both 247Sports and Rivals projecting Price to sign with Syracuse. Price, the 696th-ranked recruit in the cycle, is one of the better defensive recruits from New Jersey, so his loss is disappointing for the Mountaineers. Especially with WVU earning his last visit on the trail.

However, despite the loss of Price, WVU has another chance to land a premier talent in the 2022 cycle.

Fellow 3-star recruit Christion Stokes commits today at 5:30 PM via Twitter, and both 247Sports and Rivals project him to WVU.

Stokes would be the 13th commit in WVU’s Top 25-ranked 2022 class, joining 4-star cornerback Jacolby Spells, 4-star running back Justin Williams to commit to the Mountaineers this month.
