July continues to be a busy month for West Virginia with yet another target announcing his commitment Saturday.

3-star athlete Christion Stokes will announce his commitment Saturday at 5:30 PM via Twitter, with a Top 3 of WVU, Iowa and Michigan State to choose from.

Stokes (6-foot-1, 185) plays for Harper Woods High School in Harper Woods, Michigan. He announced his Top 3 of WVU, Iowa and Michigan State on June 28 with a picture of himself wearing all three uniforms. Toledo, Kansas, Cincinnati and Western Michigan were in his Top 7 before he narrowed his decision down.

With a visit to WVU on June 4, Stokes enjoyed his time in Morgantown. He’s posted on social media pictures of himself with other WVU targets and interacted with WVU commits from his official visit — congratulating 3-star WVU commit Mumu Bin-Wahad on his commitment.

Stokes is the 494th-ranked recruit in the cycle. According to 247Sports, he is the 43rd-ranked athlete and 14th-ranked recruit from Michigan. Rivals ranks him as the 18th-rated athlete and the 12th-rated recruit from Michigan. Both 247Sports and Rivals project Stokes to land with WVU.

With a commitment from Stokes, he could be the first of two Michigan athletes pledging themselves to WVU in the coming weeks. Fellow Detroit native and 4-star athlete Jaden Mangham is also linked to WVU, but he hasn’t announced his commitment date yet.
