During WVU head coach Neal Brown’s weekly press conference on Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that tight end Mike O’Laughlin will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury. Brown stated that O’Laughlin will get surgery this week.

O’Laughlin was injured during the Texas game on Oct. 1.

This marks the third time in five years that O’Laughlin has dealt with a season-ending injury. The first two injuries occurred during O’Laughlin’s freshman and redshirt sophomore seasons. O’Laughlin has played in 19 career games at tight end for the Mountaineers. The Illinois native has recorded 37 receptions on 292 receiving yards during his time at West Virginia. This season, O’Laughlin caught three receptions in the Virginia Tech game and hauled in a big-time play on the final drive against Pitt.
