West Virginia To Get Official Visit from Arizona 2022 DE Jacob Holmes
Earlier this month, West Virginia took their recruiting out West when they offered 2022 3-star defensive end Jacob Holmes from Cesar Chavez High School in Laveen, Arizona.
Their initial recruiting effort of him is paying off as Holmes has announced that he will make one of his official visits to come check out Neal Brown’s program. Holmes will make his way to Morgantown and make his official visit June 4-6. Holmes also has an official visit scheduled to Arizona.
The 6’3″, 285 pound defensive end has an offer list that includes West Virginia, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, Washington State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State, Utah State and San Jose State. Despite a limited schedule last season, Holmes collected 23 tackles (18 solo) and 11 tackles for loss.
Holmes was named First Team All-Region in Arizona and was named the Phoenix Union District defensive player of the year. For his senior season, the physical defensive lineman will play at Chandler High School and told West Virginia Sports Now that he’ll look to build upon his junior season performance.
“I would say my biggest strength is my capability to stop the run and put pressure on a QB,” said Holmes. “Also, a lot of coaches have brought up my get off and my nastiness at the point of attack.”
Junior season highlights •26 total tackles •4.5 sacks in 3 games https://t.co/2w9mGthFrO
