Wren Baker Teases Offer for WVU Baseball Fans on Hill During Super Regional
Since it’s impossible to accommodate every WVU baseball fan who wants to attend the Super Regional, director of athletics Wren Baker has a message for Mountaineer Nation ahead of the weekend.
“I wish we could accommodate everyone inside Kendrick Family Ballpark. But Randy’s Ridge has emerged as a great (and free) alternative for many Mountaineers. We are adding portable restrooms & trash cans in the area. There will be 1000 FREE pepperoni rolls! Who knows, Coach Randy Mazey himself might make an appearance. Be safe, have fun and as always Let’s Go Mountaineers!,” posted Baker on Thursday.
Baker is hoping adding extra accommodations and teasing the possibility of pepperoni rolls and a meet and greet with former WVU head coach Randy Mazey, the man credited with building the program up to become the national contender it is today, will help entice more fans to sit on the hill and alleviate the angst felt due to the attendance complications.
The increased interest in the postseason games in Morgantown compared to the regular season and the requirement to make space for opposing fans has led to many longtime supporters, and even season ticket holders, being displaced from their normal seat or unable to afford the prices of the tickets all together.

West Virginia will meet Cal Poly, who advanced out of the Los Angeles Regional, on Friday at noon, Saturday at noon and then on Sunday at a time to be announced later if necessary.
WVU advanced to the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament with a 6-5 win over Kentucky in 10 innings on Monday, June 1, first baseman Armani Guzman’s series-clinching single just missing the glove of center fielder Jayce Tharnish.
