WVU Baseball announced a series of changes to their 2024 schedule on Monday, January 22, knocking two opponents off their itinerary and shuffling the location of two more games.

The Mountaineers flip-flopped the locations of their home-and-home series with the Marshall Thundering Herd. Now, they’ll travel to Huntington on April 10 and host Marshall in Morgantown on March 20. That’ll make West Virginia’s travel logistics a bit easier, as they’ll play in Norman, Okla. two days later on March 22 for their Big 12 road opener. The April 10 game at Marshall, meanwhile, precedes a home series with UCF, setting up a light travel week for the Mountaineers.

Other edits to the schedule include dropping their March 5 game against Manhattan and their May 14 game against Maryland. WVU Baseball still hasn’t determined their new opponents for those games, creating two more open slots on the team’s schedule: their home game set for Tuesday, April 2 doesn’t have an opponent yet either.

Most importantly, fans who already bought tickets to any of those games won’t have to do anything extra to secure their spot at Monongalia County Ballpark. Tickets purchased for the original April 10 game in Morgantown will work for the adjusted date on March 20, while the tickets for games with opponents not yet determined will work for those games on that same date once the schedule is finalized. If the Mountaineers aren’t able to find an opponent for those slots, prospective attendees can swap them for another home game at the Mountaineer Ticket Office at the WVU Coliseum.
