WVU Basketball Completes Mountaineer Madness In Front of Fans

WVU Basketball hosted their Mountaineer Madness event at the coliseum on Friday night. The fans were introduced to the new players and the new staff members with skills competitions and a small scrimmage.

Three-Point Contest: Kerr Kriisa / Jordan McCabe
Slam Dunk Contest: Noah Farrakhan / Patrick Suemnick
Shooting Skills Contest: Ofri Naveh / Da’Sean Butler
For the three-point and shooting skills contests, a player teamed up with an assistant coach. McCabe, Butler, Alex Ruoff and DerMarr Johnson all participated with some fun competition. In the slam dunk contest, Farrakhan and Suemnick tied after going back and forth with each other on dunks. Florida State transfer Jeremiah Bembry was also included in the slam dunk contest.
For the scrimmage, the teams were split into teams of five with a 30-minute clock.. WVU G RaeQuan Battle did not participate in the scrimmage last night. Afterwards, the team signed autographs for the fans on the floor.
“We were humbled by your support tonight and we will strive to make you proud Mountaineer Nation,” WVU interim HC Josh Eilert wrote on X (Twitter).
Next West Virginia will participate in a secret scrimmage with another college basketball team at a later date this month. The Mountaineers will host George Mason on Oct. 27 at the WVU Coliseum in an exhibition game.
