WVU Basketball Provides Latest Update on Akok Akok

WVU interim HC Josh Eilert provided an update on forward Akok Akok on Sunday morning, per release.

“Akok is recovering at his home in Morgantown. He will continue to be monitored and evaluated by our medical team.”

Akok spent Friday night at Ruby Memorial Hospital after collapsing on the floor in the second half during the George Mason exhibition. Akok was on the court for about 13 minutes with the medical team before being stretchered out of the coliseum. According to teammate Quinn Slazinski, Akok was texting the team following their win.

Akok is in his first season at West Virginia and his final year of college basketball. Akok transferred in from Georgetown and began his career at UConn.
