WVU basketball staff extended an offer to 2026 guard Trey Beamer on Thursday. Beamer is a 6-foot-1 prospect who currently attends IMG Academy in Florida.

“Blessed to receive an offer from West Virginia University,” Beamer wrote on social media.

Beamer has picked up offers from College of Charleston, Hampton, High Point, Mississippi State, Old Dominion, Radford, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Beamer originally played at Carlisle School before announcing his transfer to IMG Academy in July. Beamer is entering his junior season.

In recent news, 2025 three-star guard CJ Shaw committed to UC Santa Barbara on Thursday night. Shaw chose the Gauchos over Saint Mary’s, UNLV, Utah State, West Virginia and Xavier.

Shaw took recent visits to Washington and UNLV, while also trying to set up a visit to West Virginia but nothing was finalized.

Shaw is a native of Las Vegas and currently attends Mojave High School while playing circuit ball for Vegas Elite. Shaw picked up an offer from West Virginia on July 16. Shaw mentioned that WVU associated head coach Chester Frazier had been in talks with him during his recruitment.
