WVU Football DL Jaylen Thomas

Even the morning after the Early National Signing Day, the WVU football program is still announcing new signees. On Thursday, West Virginia added defensive lineman Jaylen Thomas, a junior college recruit out of Memphis, Tenn.

Thomas (6-foot-3, 310 pounds) comes to West Virginia after playing two seasons at Northwest Mississippi Community College. He was named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) North Division Defensive Player of the Year for 2025.

He finished with 18 tackles, 2.5 for a loss and a half sack.

Most major national outlets list Thomas as one of the top five junior college defensive lineman in the country.

WVU defensive line coach William Green extended an offer to Thomas in September and then he visited in November. The Mountaineers have been watching for several months.
