WVU Football Beats Out SEC Schools for 2027 3-Star WR

The WVU football program kicked off the week by landing another recruit for their 2027 class in wide receiver Carter Davis.

Listed at 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds, Davis announced his commitment to the Mountaineers on social media.

In picking West Virginia over Mississippi State, Davis becomes the latest recruiting win for Rich Rodriguez and his staff, who have been flipping other prospects away from major conference schools all offseason. Davis also had offers from Auburn, LSU, Tennessee and several other big brands.

Helping to seal the deal, Davis commitment also comes after his official visit earlier in the month.

Davis caught 45 passes for 715 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior in 2025. He for 118 yards and four touchdowns.
