WVU Football Fans React to Firing of Neal Brown
WVU football fans got the news many had been waiting for Sunday afternoon as Neal Brown was relieved of his duties as head coach following six years with the Mountaineers.
Most initial fan reactions had the same sentiment — Brown was a good man, but it was time for a change in Morgantown.
I think Neal Brown is a good guy. This is not a referendum on him as a person.
But WVU needs a shot in the arm. It didn’t work. I wish him all the best and I hope he succeeds wherever he lands.
Onward and forward.

I wish it could have worked for Neal Brown…

Neal Brown is great guy, built a great culture and embraced the state of WV but at the end of the day he just couldn’t win enough.
I’m glad the move was made but I’m concerned about how bad the mass portal exodus will be. Will WVU be able to keep CJ, Jaheim, Nicco, Trotter?— Jeff (@jeff_atha) December 1, 2024
i like neal brown as a person but THANK GOD he is gone in WVU

I wish Neal Brown and his family the best. Seems like a good guy. He did everything right but the win column. In the coaching business, that’s the only thing that counts. I hope he lands somewhere that he can succeed.

I feel bad for Neal Brown. He was a super nice guy, but at the same time I don’t feel bad. It’s business and it’s been a painful past 6 years being a WVU fan. I need the 2012 orange bowl days back.

Neal Brown is a good guy. A loyal coach and family man. It looked good on paper, but never showed on the field. We should all wish him the best of luck in the future. #WVU
