WVU Football HC Neal Brown Gives Injury Updates
WVU football head coach Neal Brown met with the media on Thursday, providing injury updates on individual Mountaineers.
Tomas Rimac (OL) – will miss spring ball
Trey Lathan (LB) – back and good to go
Kole Taylor (TE) – limited
CJ Donaldson (RB) – limited while recovering
Most notably, Lathan’s freshman season ended prematurely after suffering a lower leg injury vs. TCU on Sept. 30.
West Virginia is coming off a 9-4 season, capped with a Duke’s Mayo Bowl win over North Carolina. WVU returns a lot of offensive threats led by Garrett Greene, Jahiem White, Donaldson and others.
The Big 12 loses Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC while adding Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah as the conference has a new look. WVU should be projected to finish in the top half of the league with the potential to play for a Big 12 title.
West Virginia’s spring game will take place on Saturday, April 27. The football team will begin its spring drills on Monday.
West Virginia will open the season hosting Penn State on Aug. 31 and then playing the Backyard Brawl vs. Pitt after an FCS matchup before getting into conference play.
