WVU Baseball picked up a pair of top commitments on Monday, fleshing out their roster for future seasons.

Zahir Barjam, a 5-foot-10, 190 pound right-handed middle infielder announced his commitment first. Barjam attends P27 Baseball Academy in Lexington, S.C., the alma mater of current Mountaineers infielder Ellis Garcia—and four MLB Draft picks in the past three years alone.

Perfect Game rates Barjam at 9.5 on their 10 point prospect grading scale, indicating that as things stand right now, his prospects rest somewhere in the top half of the MLB Entry Draft… something to keep an eye on in case the pros filch him away after he graduates this upcoming spring semester.

The Mountaineers also garnered a commitment from left-handed pitcher Colin Harrison, a member of the class of 2026 out of Elkridge, Md., who also doubles up as an outfielder and first baseman.

Harrison stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 195 pounds, possessing a fastball that lights the radar gun at 90 miles per hour, also mixing in a mid 70s breaking ball and a high 70s changeup.

He doesn’t have a rating on Perfect Game yet, but received recognition as one of the top upperclassmen pitchers at the WWBA World Championship in early October, a sign of his growing talent ahead of his junior year of high school.
