The No. 18 ranked WVU wrestling team will compete at the 43rd annual Cliff Keen Invitational this weekend in Las Vegas for the first time since 2017.

The action will kick off inside the Las Vegas Convention Center at noon Friday for the first session and will conclude at 6 p.m. Saturday with session four. All times are eastern despite the tournament taking place in Vegas.

“We can’t wait to compete in the best tournament of the season,” seventh-year Mountaineers coach Tim Flynn said in a release. “This is the best in-season test of the year, as our guys have to really step up to do well in Vegas.”

West Virginia is making its 19th appearance at the annual event since 2000, where the Mountaineers took sixth to end the first half of the 1999-2000 campaign. The Mountaineers went on to claim 11 top-20 finishes with four in the top 10, highlighted by a runner-up finish in 2001. West Virginia recorded its final two top-10 performances in 2002 (5th) and 2005 (8th).

Nine wrestlers will participate in the event for the Mountaineers, including seven ranked in FloWrestling’s top 33, including No. 23 Jett Strickenberger (133 pounds), No. 13 Jordan Titus (141), No. 28 Sasha Gavronsky (157), No. 4 Peyton Hall (165), No. 29 Brody Conley (174) and No. 32 Austin Cooley (197).

The tournament field consists of 30 schools across 20 states. Thirteen of the schools join West Virginia in the Top 25 of the NWCA Coaches Poll, including a string starting at No. 3 Oklahoma State and going to No. 12 Iowa State.

The event can be streamed live on FloWrestling.
