WVU Football Edge recruit Katrell Webb

Since establishing a pass rush is key for any defense, the WVU football staff joined the battle for one of the top edge rusher recruits. West Virginia officially entered the race for Katrell Webb, a 2026 four-star prospect out of Collins High School in Suwanee Ga., last week.

Webb revealed his WVU offer on Jan. 24, adding the Mountaineers to a constantly growing list of interested schools. In the days prior to West Virginia’s offer, Webb heard from Florida, Memphis and Vanderbilt. He then took a trip to visit North Carolina State in the days after West Virginia got involved.

At 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, Webb is ranked as a four-star by both Rivals and 247 Sports, granted ESPN and On3 Sports only have him listed as a three-star. Webb’s most favorable individual raking comes from Rivals, as he’s their No. 19 player in Georgia.

Webb posted monster numbers in 2024, recording 70 total tackles, 30 tackles for a loss, 13 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumbles recoveries, a pick and a defensive touchdown.
