WVU Football Makes Final 3 for 2025 3-Star Florida DL
As more recruits continue narrowing down their lists and making big decisions, the WVU football staff has a better idea of what their 2025 recruiting class will look like. This now includes the possibility of landing a top tier defensive line prospect from Florida.
On Wednesday, Donta Simpson revealed West Virginia as one of his final three schools. He’s also still considering FAU and Maryland out of his offers.
“I’m blessed to be in the position that I’m in right now, I’m thankful for god, my parents and my coaches cause without them I wouldn’t be where I’m at now,” said Simpson on X (Twitter).

Simpson, who is listed at 6-foot-3, 285 pounds and attends Chaminade-Modona Prep in Hollywood, Fla., will be on campus for an official visit on June 21. WVU initially sent Simpson an offer in late January.
He holds a three-star rating from multiple major recruiting outlets. 247 Sports ranks Simpson as the No. 143 Florida prospect and the No. 107 defensive line nationally. Rivals has him all the way up as their No. 30 defensive lineman in his class.
Simpson kept WVU on a list that initially also had offers from Coastal Carolina, FIU, Illinois, Liberty, Minnesota, North Carolina State, SMU, Temple, Tulane and Western Michigan.
