Mountaineers in the Pros: Week Two

Week two of the NFL season has come and gone with the conclusion of last nights Monday Night game, so let’s take a look at how the former Mountaineers fared this week.

Quinton Spain
Buffalo Bills (NFL)

Quinton Spain saw another start at left guard this week vs the Giants.  Spain helped propel the Bills to a 28-14 win over the New York Giants.  Spain played in 71 offensive plays and 5 special teams plays.

Will Grier
Carolina Panthers (NFL)

Charlotte, N.C.

Will Grier did not play in Carolina’s 20-14 loss to Tampa Bay.

Bruce Irvin
Carolina Panthers (NFL)

Atlanta, Ga.

Bruce Irvin was not active in Carolina’s 20-14 loss to Tampa Bay.  The former first round pick is still recovering from a hamstring injury that has left him on the sideline for two consecutive games.

Nick Kwiatkoski

Nick Kwiatkoski was used only on special teams vs the Broncos.

Shelton Gibson
Cleveland Browns (NFL)

Cleveland, Ohio

Shelton Gibson was signed to the Browns practice squad on Sept. 2.

Tavon Austin
Dallas Cowboys (NFL)

Baltimore, Md.

Tavon Austin is suffering from a concussion and was ruled inactive against the Redskins.  The absence of Austin didn’t appear to stall Prescott and the Cowboy offense as they cruised to a 31-21 victory.

Mark Glowinski
Indianapolis Colts (NFL) 
G | 6-4 | 310
Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Mark Glowinski started at right guard for the Colts as they edged out the Titans, 19-17.  Glowinski played every snap and also saw time on special teams.  The Colts have one of the better offensive lines in the league and it is being led by Quenton Nelson and Mark Glowinski.

Najee Goode
Jacksonville Jaguars (NFL) 
LB | 6-0 | 244
Cleveland, Ohio

Najee Goode did not see any time at linebacker against the Texans.  However, Goode played in 21 special team plays in Jacksonville’s one point loss.

Kyzir White
Los Angeles Chargers (NFL)

Macungie, Pa.

Kyzir White followed up on his fantastic week 1 performance with a mediocre week 2 showing vs the Lions.  The Lions beat the Chargers 13-10 and White finished with 7 tackles total. He played 89% of the Chargers defensive plays.

Yodny Cajuste
New England Patriots (NFL)

Miami, Fla.

Yodny Cajuste did not play in the Patriots 43-0 win against the Dolphins.  Cajuste has been dealing with an injury to his quad.  He was placed on the non-football injury list back in July.

David Sills V
New York Giants (NFL)

Wilmington, Del.

David Sills was assigned to the Giant’s practice squad on Sept. 2.

Trevon Wesco
New York Jets (NFL)

Martinsburg, W.Va.

Trevon Wesco was active again for the Jets in week 2.  Wesco was used 3 times on offense in the Jets 23-3 loss to the Browns.

Karl Joseph
Oakland Raiders (NFL)

Orlando, Fla.

Karl Joseph combined for 3 tackle’s in the Raiders 18 point loss to the Chiefs.  Joseph also recorded one tackle for a loss.

Daryl Worley
Oakland Raiders (NFL)

Philadelphia, Pa.

Daryl Worley finished with 7 tackles and recovered a fumble against the Chiefs on Sunday.  Worley has seemed to find his groove with the Raiders and looks to have a promising year.

Rasul Douglas
Philadelphia Eagles (NFL)

East Orange, N.J.

Rasul Douglas got his second straight start at cornerback in the Eagles 4 point loss to Atlanta.  Douglas had 1 pass breakup and also combined for 2 tackles.

Gary Jennings
Seattle Seahawks (NFL)

Gary Jennings was once again not active against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Geno Smith

Geno Smith was active against the Steelers, but did not play.

David Long
Tennessee Titans (NFL)

David Long saw a total of 13 plays on special teams in the Titans 19-17 loss to the Colts.

Adam Pankey

Adam Pankey was signed to the Titans practice squad on Sept. 2.

Wendell Smallwood
Washington Redskins (NFL)

Wilmington, Del.

Wendell Smallwood saw 2 targets and hauled both in for a total of 9 yards. He also ran the ball one time for 4 yards.  Smallwood played in 16 offensive plays and 16 special teams plays.  The Redskins lost 31-21 to the Cowboys.
