WVU Football OL Robby Martin Expected to Enter Transfer Portal

After transferring to West Virginia ahead of the 2025 season, in-state offensive lineman Robby Martin will be one and done as a member of WVU football.

Martin is expected to enter transfer portal, according to what his agency told Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of 247 Sports.

Martin committed to N.C. State as a four-star recruit out of West Virginia’s Huntington High School, where he picked up 190 pancake blocks in the course of his career and spent time at both center and left tackle.

After one season with the Wolfpack, Martin transferred to the Mountaineers in early 2025, giving him a chance to make a name for himself while playing for his home state’s flagship program. Martin took a redshirt year during the 2024 season, appearing at center for part of one game, and his 6-foot-3, 302 pound frame likely fits the interior offensive line best.

Martin grew up a WVU fan and was recruited hard by then-offensive line coach Matt Moore out of high school.

“They have recruited me hard, they have also been great to me and I feel it’s a good program,” Martin told WVSN during his initial recruitment. He also explained he wants the school he picks to feel like home and to treat him as a member of a family.

He ultimately committed to and signed with the Wolfpack after visiting both N.C. State and WVU over the summer.
