WVU Football Signee, WPIAL Product Jason Cross Makes Big 33 Roster

A WVU football signee earned a big honor for high school players in his state. Western Pennsylvania product Jason Cross made the 2024 Big 33 roster for as a member of Team PA.

Cross will be taking those country roads from Pittsburgh to Morgantown. The class of 2024 athlete signed on with the WVU football program on December’s National Signing Day.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds, Cross is primarily considered a safety, but was recruited as an athlete. He signed his national letter of intent during. ceremony at Bishop Canevin High School.

He even said he was “2,000% committed” when he announced his commitment at the end of June.

Cross’ athleticism is what makes him an attractive player to West Virginia. He also plays on his school’s basketball team and is listed as a safety by some outlets while simply an athlete by others. Cross is ranked among the Pennsylvania top recruits in his class, even receiving number six placement from 247 Sports.

When he committed to WVU, Cross picked West Virginia over Michigan State and Syracuse.

The 2024 Big 33 All-Star Football Classic will be held on Sunday, May 26 at Cumberland Valley High School’s Chapman Field in Cumberland County, Pa. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm.
