A West Virginia native is coming home. The WVU football program announced the signing of Jacksonville State offensive line transfer Xavier Bausley on Sunday.

Bausley, who committed on Jan. 7, ended up picking West Virginia over schools like Kentucky and Pitt. He visited Morgantown before making his decision within the transfer window.

Bausley, listed at 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, started 12 games for the Gamecocks this past season. He played over 900 snaps and earned All-Conference USA Freshman honors.

He played high school football at South Charleston High School. Bausley’s versatility fits in well with what WVU offensive line coach Matt Moore wants in his linemen.

Being at WVU will allow Bausley to learn from an experienced group of starters, be back in his home state and play in a major conference. He has three years left of eligibility.
