WVU HC Neal Brown, OL Coach Matt Moore Visit 3-Star OL Commit Nick Krahe

As West Virginia head coach Neal Brown continues with his plan to rebuild the offensive line into the future, he is making sure he secures the commitment from a player he feels can be an actor for that group.

Brown and offensive line coach Matt Moore stopped by the house of Nick Krahe, who has been committed to the program since August. Krahe posted about the visit on Twitter, tweeting “great home visit with my future coaches!” along with a picture of three in front of a fire place in the home of his family.

The 6’5″, 280-pound lineman from Harborcreek, Pennsylvania became the the third offensive lineman, joining Johnny Williams (Macon, Georgia) and Cooper Young (Downingtown, Pennsylvania) when he announced his commitment to WVU.

Along with WVU, Krahe received other “Power Five” offers from Boston College, Maryland and Pitt. Credit offensive line coach Matt Moore as the lead recruiter for Krahe.

Krahe received his offer from West Virginia in June and made an unofficial visit to Morgantown at the end of July, which played a big factor in this decision. He also was in attendance for the Mountaineers’ 2022 home opener this past season, which ended up being a loss to Kansas.

“The visit to West Virginia was probably the biggest thing that I took out of all of my recruiting,” Krahe tells West Virginia Sports Now. “After I went there, I really had a good feeling about West Virginia. I think the thing that really stood out the most is that they were definitely the best academic place for me. And the family atmosphere there, that really just sold me.”

“During the visit, I was talking with Coach Moore and Coach Brown a lot and they loved me. Honestly, I felt the love from everyone there. All the commits there really wanted me. It was a feeling that you just couldn’t beat,” Krahe said at the time.
