The annual Big 12 media day is set to take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on October 23rd in Kansas City.  WVU head coach, Bob Huggins, announced that Logan Routt, Oscar Tshiebwe, Derek Culver and Chase Harler will attend.

Logan Routt, the 6′ 11″ big man from Cameron, WV, is in his final season with the Mountaineers.  He has played most of his career as a role player, but has stood out as a leader for the team.  He has appeared in 76 games and has started in 11 of those games.

Oscar Tshiebwe, the 6′ 9″ freshman, goes by the Big O.  Tshiebwe is just the second McDonald’s All-American to enroll at WVU as a freshman since Chris Brooks in 1986.  He also led his high school team (Kennedy Catholic) to a 27-3 record and a 6A state title.  The future in Morgantown is bright for the young man who compiled 1,480 points in high school.

Derek Culver, the 6′ 10″ sophomore, looking for a breakout year will also attend media day.  He was a standout star when he was on the floor last year for WVU.  Culver averaged 11.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game.  He was named to the All-Big 12 second team and the All-Big 12 freshman team.

Chase Harler, the 6′ 3″ senior, will look minuscule standing next to Tshiebwe, Routt and Culver considering the three are roughly 7 inches taller than him.  However, Harler is the heart and hustle of the Mountaineers.  He has been a great leader and one of Huggins favorites.  Harler has appeared in 85 games and has started 19 of those games.
