When the proper pieces are in place, Neal Brown’s style of offense at West Virginia will be an exciting one to watch and play in.
That’s something that the Mountaineer coaches are selling to future recruits, including a talented junior that recently received an offer from West Virginia.
2021 tight end Thomas Fidone (6’5″, 220) from Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa officially received an offer from the WVU coaching staff this weekend. Fidone’s offer list now includes West Virginia, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, LSU, Minnesota, Nebraska and Northwestern.
“I found out about the offer over a phone call with Coach Trickett,” Fidone told West Virginia Sports Now. “I was pretty shocked but extremely grateful for the offer and being noticed at the next level from all these coaches across the country. I was extremely happy and this offer is another thing that will make my eventual decision even harder.”
The last couple months have been extremely hectic for Fidone with multiple major Power Five offers coming in but the craziness is something that he won’t complain about because he realizes that he’s extremely blessed to be in this position.
“The last month has been very busy but it’s been a crazy and fun experience for my family and I. All of this is just something that will keep me working harder and makes me even more motivated,” said Fidone.
Fidone tells WV Sports Now that the biggest compliment that he hears from coaches about his play on the field is his route running ability for his size and his hands and ability to hang onto the ball.

In terms of upcoming recruiting trips, Fidone will be heading soon to both Nebraska and Wisconsin. Now that he officially has an offer from West Virginia, he plans on talking with his family about making a trip to Morgantown.
