WVU quarterback Ryder Burton is entering the transfer portal. Burton posted a message on social media on Wednesday morning to announce his decision.

“Thank you West Virginia and Coach Brown as well as Coach Allen for the opportunity of a lifetime with that being said I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal,” said Burton.

Burton thanked former WVU head coach Neal Brown and quarterbacks coach Tyler Allen in his post.

Burton leaves West Virginia after signing on just six months ago. Burton, who spent 2023 as a redshirt with BYU, did not see game action in 2024.
