West Virginia University football coach Neal Brown was elected by his peers to the American Football Coaches Association’s (AFCA) Board of Trustees, the organization announced Tuesday evening.

Brown just wrapped up his second season leading the Mountaineers, finishing with a 6-4 record and a Liberty Bowl victory over Army. The second-year head coach now has an 11-11 record at WVU. In September, Brown was named the honorary coach of the AFCA Good Works team.

Brown will represent the Big 12 Conference on the board. Joining him this year are Louisiana coach Billy Napier (Sun Belt) and Arkansas coach Sam Pittman (SEC). Northwestern’s Pat Fitzgerald is the incoming president while Wyoming’s Craig Bohl, Ouachita Baptist’s Todd Knight and Duke’s David Cutcliffe will serve as vice presidents.
