One of the most talented athletes in the entire country will be making an unofficial visit to Morgantown in the month of June.

Rodney Gallagher from Laurel Highland High School in Uniontown, Pennsylvania will make an unofficial visit to both the West Virginia football and basketball programs on June 12. Gallagher is rated as a 2023 4-star recruit in both football and basketball by both Rivals and 247 Sports.

Gallagher (6’0″, 170) is a skilled point guard that helped lead his team to the WPIAL Championship as a freshman and is also member of the highly skilled AAA program, Team Durant. At this stage, Gallagher holds basketball offers from Florida, George Mason, Illinois, Penn State, Pitt, Rhode Island, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

On the football field, he plays wide receiver and is rated by Rivals as one of the Top 50 overall players in the Class of 2023 with offers from West Virginia, Pitt, Penn State, Notre Dame, Arizona State, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, NC State, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.

A key factor in Gallagher’s recruitment could be the fact that he has a desire to continue to play both sports when going to college. Right now, the three teams that are giving him the opportunity to do that are West Virginia, Pitt and Penn State. Mike Brey and Notre Dame are expected to talk with him about this when he makes a visit to South Bend later this summer.

With recruiting visits set to open up tomorrow, Gallagher has scheduled three unofficial trips: Pitt (June 1), West Virginia (June 12) and Penn State (June 24).
