Miles Sadler Shines as WVU Basketball Routes Stetson
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – WVU basketball freshman guard Miles Sadler tallied 25 points and six assists in a 91-53 win for WVU basketball over Stetson on Friday night.
Sadler scored the first points of the night with a transition layup. He contributed seven points to WVU’s start as the Mountaineers took a 12-7 lead to the first media timeout.
Junior guard Joson Sanon provided another bench spark, as he went 4-4 from three on consecutive possessions to start the game to give WVU a 15-point lead at 31-16. However, Stetson responded with a seven-point swing and forced a timeout from head coach Ross Hodge.
WVU kept the advantage, as Steton never had it closer than six points in the first half. Sadler led WVU in the first half with 14 points as Sanon followed with 12 for a 43-3o lead at halftime.
Sadler kept his momentum going into the second half with an and-one layup on the first possession of the second half, but missed the free throw. He added another layup and then sent a deep lob to junior forward Seydou Traore, who finished with a slam off the fast break.
The WVU lead grew to 49-30 and forced a Stetson timeout just under two minutes into the second half.
Senior guard Finley Bizjack brought the lead to 22 out of the timeout with a three-pointer.
The Mountaineer lead reached 30 when Sadler sunk a three with 4:53 remaining, his last points of the night.
WVU ended the game on an 11-0 run, completing the 91-53 victory.
WVU basketball will be back in action at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, when it hosts Mercer.
