2024 4-Star C JT Rock Talks Recent West Virginia Visit

2024 4-star center JT Rock recently took a visit to West Virginia on the weekend of Nov. 4. Rock discussed his visit with WV Sports Now.

“During the visit, we got to watch the team practice. We got a tour of the WVU Coliseum, the practice facility, and weight room. We met with the strength coach, the coaching staff and the academic advisors for men’s basketball,” he said.

Rock (7-foot, 225 pounds) is entering his junior season at Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, SD. Rock is currently rated the No. 60 player in the country from his class. Within the last few months, many Power-5 programs have reached out to Rock. Rock has received offers from Creighton, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Purdue, South Dakota State, West Virginia and Wisconsin. West Virginia offered Rock on Oct. 10.

“Coach Josh Eilert is leading my recruiting for WVU. He has been to South Dakota twice to see me,” Rock said.

During his visit, WVU head coach Bob Huggins drove Rock around and taught him the history of Morgantown and the state of West Virginia. What better tour guide than a Hall of Famer?

“Coach Huggins gave me a campus tour and drove around Morgantown a little bit, pointing out notable spots. He told me about the history of the community and the university, as well as the team,” Rock said. “It was nice to be able to spend some time getting to know him.”
