2024 4-star guard Del Jones announced his top-8 list on Tuesday evening. Jones included West Virginia, who offered him back in February.

Jones’ final eight consists of Arizona State, Clemson, Ole Miss, Oregon, Providence, Tennessee, Texas A&M and West Virginia.

Jones (6-foot-3, 170 pounds), a top-70 player in his class, currently plays at Huntington Prep. Jones is originally from Arlington, Va., an area WVU is trying to target with new assistant DerMarr Johnson. Johnson is familiar with the DMV area.

“I was really excited to get the offer,” he said. “I am really familiar with coach [DerMarr Johnson] with him being from home and knowing some of the people. I know coach and I have been talking for a while now. I can’t wait to come visit the school.”

Newly Offered 2024 4-Star Guard Del Jones ‘Excited’ About WVU Entering Recruitment

Jones has received offers from Akron, Arizona State, Bryant, George Washington, Mississippi State, NC State, Ohio, Old Dominion, Oregon, Rutgers, San Diego, South Carolina, Southeastern Louisiana, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCF and West Virginia.

Jones took an unofficial visit to Tennessee in September.

West Virginia has shifted to recruiting the transfer portal for the 2023 class. WVU’s coaching staff does not have a single high school commitment for 2023 but has set their attention to the 2024 and 2025 high school prospects.
