Wendell Smith, a class of 2024 cornerback recruit, will be visiting WVU this week. Smith told WV Sports Now that he will be in Morgantown on Thursday for another visit with the program.

Listed at 6-foot and 168 pounds, Smith was most recently on campus a few weeks ago on Mar. 31. He’s a player the Mountaineers have had their eyes for a couple years now, initially receiving an offer back in June of 2021.

Back then, the Detroit, Michigan native out of Pershing High School explained to WVSN that the offer from West Virginia was among his first from a Power Five school. WVU safeties coach Dontae Wright has been heavily involved in recruiting Smith.

Smith, who visited Tennessee on April 1 and Penn State on Mar. 17, currently has offers on the table from Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH) and Toledo.

Rivals has awarded Smith three stars. Below is a video package Smith tweeted to show his skills from football camps in January.
