According to Ellis’ Instagram story, the sophomore guard will attend the WVU-Baylor football game. Ellis (6-foot) is a native of Hickory, N.C., averaging 21.9 points per game as a freshman at Moravian Prep. In August, Ellis signed with Overtime Elite, forgoing a salary to maintain his college eligibility. Ellis has received offers from Austin Peay, College of Charleston, High Point, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, Ohio, Old Dominion, Ole Miss, Radford, South Carolina, Southern Miss, Utah State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Winthrop and others.

WVU’s coaching staff will also host 2023 G Bryce Lindsay and 2023 C Derek Vorst over the next couple days. Lindsay is a 3-star guard who originally was committed to Frank Martin at South Carolina. Lindsay currently plays at IMG Academy in Florida. Vorst is a big from Ohio who has interest from other Power-5 programs.
