WVU Football Officially Offers 2026 Tennessee WR After Coal Rush Game Visit
A recent offer shows the WVU football program’s continued plan to recruit in the south. 2026 three-star wide receiver Owen Cabell revealed an offer from West Virginia on Sunday morning.
As is common with WVU recruits, and especially wide receiver prospects, Cabell included an image of WVU legend Tavon Austin as part of his post with the offer. Cabell’s offer came after his visit for the Coal Rush night.

Listed 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, Cabell attends Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, Tenn. Cabell had 14 reception for 387 yards during his 2024 high school season as of Sept. 27. WVU wide receiver coach Bilal Marshall is Cabell’s lead recruiter.
He owns a three-star rating from Rivals, On3 Sports and 247 Sports and is ranked as one of the top 25 players in the state by each outlet. To this point in his recruiting, Cabell has offers from major programs like Georgia, Louisville, Illinois, Tennessee, UNLV, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, another recent one from Wisconsin among others.
Cabell has also attended camps for recruits at schools like Florida.
