Considered a three-star prospect, Powell was offered by West Virginia defensive coordinator Zac Alley directly in late January and then quickly spent some time on the WVU campus. He has an official visit scheduled for the weekend of June 6-8.
Itโs believed Powell picked West Virginia over Kentucky. He also had offers from Bowling Green, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami (OH), Ohio, Temple and Toledo. Out of those schools, Ohio stands out due to being on West Virginia’s 2025 schedule.
Rich Rodriguez will lead the Mountaineers to Athens, Ohio to take on the Bobcats in a Week 2 non conference matchup.
