WVU Football DL recruit Ayden Cain

With most of the work as far as 2025 recruiting behind them, the WVU football staff is focusing on building relationships with 2026 prospects. To that end, a top defensive lineman out of Georgia announced he will be on campus later this month.

On Wednesday, Ayden Cain (6-foot-2, 260 pounds), a Dutchtown High School product from McDonough, Ga., posted that he will be visiting WVU on July 25. Cain mentioned WVU defensive line coach Andrew Jackson in his post on X (Twitter).

While Cain does not currently have a West Virginia offer, one could certainly be on the way after his visit. To this point, Cain holds offers from Arkansas State, Duke, Georgia State, Marshall, Massachusetts, UAB, Wake Forest and Western Kentucky. The Marshall offer is Cain’s most recent, coming on June 28.

Cain participated in a football camp for recruits at Duke in June.

WVU’s interest in Cain fits with the program’s continued effort to establish a pipeline in Georgia, especially for players overlooked by the Georgia Bulldogs.
