Viewed as a perfect in Rich Rodriguez’s offense, Amari Latimer will transition from putting up monster numbers in high school to the pressure of carrying the ball for West Virginia in the Big 12.

Starting his college career as a freshman for West Virginia, Latimer is listed at 5-foot-10 and 231 pounds. Signed as a four-star recruit, he owns the all-time rushing yards and touchdowns records for Sandy Creek High School in Fairburn, Ga. with 5,595 yards and 78 scores.

Last Year: Latimer played running back and linebacker for coach Darius Smiley at Sandy Creek High.

Stats: He’s the all-time leading rusher for Sandy Creek with 5,595 yards and 78 touchdowns and also holds the single-game records for rushing touchdowns (7) and rushing yards (287).

Post-Camp Outlook: Latimer seemed to fit in well, both on and off the field, during his first glimpse at college football in the spring.

Projected Role: While Cam Cook is the clear RB1, Latimer should earn opportunities to gain carries behind him as WVU looks for depth at the position.
